Personal Care Service Checklist
From our long experience working in the homes of thousands of families in Northwest Florida and working
closely with agencies like the Council on Aging, TLC Caregivers has developed the following quality checklist
to help you have peace of mind when you're considering a personal care service.
-
It's important to make sure that the person you're letting in your house doesn't have a criminal record.
TLC Caregivers works with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to screen everyone and eliminate
anyone with a criminal background.
-
You don't want someone with a drug or drinking problem in your home.
TLC Caregivers uses a physician-directed medical laboratory to perform a 10-panel drug test on every
employee - the highest stand of caution.
-
If someone has an accident, if something is missing, or if property is damaged, who's responsible?
TLC Caregivers insures and bonds every employee against losses from theft, accidents or general liability.
-
You don't want the IRS or the Social Security Administration making you responsible for withholding or tax
payments of people who work in your home.
TLC Caregivers takes full responsibility, withholds all taxes, and pays the Social Security payments for
all caregivers.
